Pesach 2014

Our shule seder, held for the first time in the Workmen’s Circle space, was a great success.

Its theme, “Human Migration and Liberty,” integrated kids’ work from throughout the year on Jewish communities around the world, the teen group’s journey to the South to learn about the Civil Rights Movement, the students’ advocacy work for the rights of farm laborers, and the efforts of parent volunteers, who told family immigration stories and put together a delicious potluck.

The following week, Midtown shule students performed songs and skits in the Workmen’s Circle’s Proudly Progressive Seder held at the 1199 SEIU Penthouse.

What a meaningful, musical, spirited event—thanks to all who worked so hard to organize.
