Yiddish Music Performance for Seniors, October 2012

Zach and our group got everyone smiling and clapping to Yiddish songs at VillageCare, a senior living facility near our school on the West Side of Manhattan.

We walked over after shule and entertained residents in their lounge.  Max played saxophone, Emma provided a sign-language accompaniment, and Shayna G, Shayna K-Z, Gigi, Naomi and their parents sang the Yiddish songs “Balabusta,” “Sholem,” and “Ale Brider” with lots of spirit.

Thanks so much to Jilleyn for organizing—and we’re looking forward to going back.
